| After fifteen years' hard negotiation, China finally joined WTO on11th Dec 2001. Among hundreds of pages of the WTO Entrancedocument, financial service is firmly emphasized. From then on, the newera for the opening of financial service had come with acceleration andspecific schedule. According to the commission entering WTO, all themarket limitation will be abolished. So it is a hard job for the financereform in 2006. The big four state bank must go to the market, while thegood big state stock should come back to the domestic market fromabroad. Furthermore, it is the deadline for the financial market completelyopen to the foreign capital until the bottom of December in 2006. At thattime, the competition will be very fierce. So it is very important to buildup the core competence of business bank.This paper introduces the present situation and the whole system ofChinese business bank. The state business bank is big but not strong.Shareholder's business bank is strong but not big. While city businessbank is small and weak. And then the author analyses the operationsituation of Chinese business bank and compares domestic business bankwith foreign business bank. The author points out that business banks'core competence must be constructed from development strategy,information technology, organization and process reconstruction, humanresources, corporation governance, produce and service. Corecompetence of points of business bank is the key for business bank tobuild up core competence. Here the author discusses the importantfunction of points of business bank. In the author's opinion, corecompetence must be built up from three aspects, including client managerinstitution, retail bank and midst business. E-bank is the trend for futurebusiness bank, which must be promoted.Finally, the author draws conclusions and points out the limitationsand orientation of future research. |
