Supply Chain Logistics Management, Transportation Decision-making Mechanism Study

Since the 1990s, consumer's demand characteristic has had the unprecedented change, and the economic activity of the entire world also appeared the characteristic of the whole world economic integration that ever happened before. In the new competition environment, the enterprises face the more and more pressure of shortening the date of delivery, improving the product quality, reducing the cost and improving the grade of service.The low price, high grade and fast delivery of the commodity have become the magic weapon of enterprise that to win in the competition, and implements the effective supply chain management is one of most important methods to realize this competitive advantage. The appearance of the Supply Chain Management applies with the epoch's request. It pay attention to both interior and exterior resources and competitive power of enterprises, it also emphasized on the integration of the resources and the competitive power carries on based the entire Supply Chain, so Supply Chain Management is one kind of new thoughts and the methods.The third profit (logistic profit) becomes the "black hole" of the entire Supply Chain profit, and therefore, how to reduce logistic cost and to excavate the third profit of the Supply Chain become the emphases of Supply Chain Management research. From point of view of reducing the logistic cost, the transportation cost is probable 35% ~ 60% of the whole logistic cost. If we can reduce the transportation cost, it can make remarkable contribution to enhancing the logistic system benefit in the Supply Chain, and then to realize the profit maximization of supply chain. This thesis mainly research the decision-making mechanism of the logistic transportation in Supply Chain from the point of view of theoretical analysis, in order to guarantee the transportation decision-making can be correctly carried on, reduce the transportation cost as well as carry on effective Supply Chain Management.This thesis divides into six chapters. The first chapter mainly introduces the writing background of this thesis, explores the theory system that the thesis involves, the structure and the main innovation spot of this thesis.In second chapter, the author summarize the concept of Supply Chain and Supply Chain Management based on the research of the massive literature, and goes deep into the analysis of Supply Chain and Supply Chain Management from kinds of point of views. To introduce the type and the basic model of supply chain, and analyze the difference of Push Supply Chain and Pull Supply Chain. Then author analyzes the concept of logistic management, the differences of Supply Chain Management and logistic management, author also summarizes the characteristic of logistic management in supply chain, and constructs "the logistic model based on supply chain";Finally, author elaborated the theory that related to the decision-making, for example, definition, essential factor ofdecision-making, the model and classification of decision-making and then analyses the process of decision-making.The third chapter, the author first introduces several basic concepts, for example, the basic definition and function of transportation;Afterwards then, author starts to construct the decision-making mechanism of the logistic transportation in Supply Chain, namely: The main body, the object, the goal and the content of transportation decision-making, and also the optimization decision-making of the logistic transportation.. Among them, when the author analyze the main body of transportation decision-making, author not only points out each main body, but also analyzes the relations between each main body of transportation decision-making;When analysis transportation decision-making content, author thoroughly analyzes the principle of the transportation quantity forecast, the selection principle of the forecast method and some model that are useful to the logistic manager. The author analyzes the phenomena and the form factor of "the Bullwhip Effect" which is easy to appear in the forecast, and then points some strategies to efficiently control "the Bullwhip Effect ". Using the Analytic Hierarchy Process to choose the best forwarder;Elaborating the characteristic of each kind of transportation mode, the principle of choosing transport means, proposing some decision-making model of choosing transportation means.In the forth chapter, author analyze the optimization decision-making of the logistic transportation. Author construct the network chart of logistic in supply chain, and t summarizes the characteristic of this network chart, On the base of analyzing several kind of common methods of choosing transportation lines, author constructs the model of transportation lines optimization in supply chain. As for the solution of this model, author emphasizes on the utility of Excel Solver and software package LINDO.In the fifth chapter, author use the data of Kunming Cable Stock Ltd to research the decision-making of this company? On the base of describing the company's instance and organization configuration, to describe the supply chain and supply chain flow of this company, and to make the supply chain model of this company, use the data to validate the decision-making mechanism in the third chapter.The sixth chapter is the summary of the entire thesis. It gives some opinions on this thesis, points out the deficiency and the development direction of this research. The supply chain management is one kind of effective management pattern, it can enhance the competitive power of the enterprise.
