"post-quota Era," China's Textile And Garment Export Strategy Research

According to the agreement of ATC, quotas of textiles and clothing have been all cancelled in January 1, 2005. It meant that quotas of textiles and clothing which had been limiting free trade 43 years in liberalism broken up and the international trade of textiles and clothing returned to free trade system. The trade of textiles and clothing will follow the integral whole turns. But according to the actual status during January 1, 2005 up to now, the way of textiles and clothing to free trade is very difficult. Some countries and regions, for example, EU and the United States adopt new measures to limit free trade of textiles and clothing during the old trade rule turns to the new forms, which bring serious suffer to our country. Because the time which WTO cancelled the quota of textiles and clothing is very short, the new trade structure and form haven' t been set up, and the problem appeared in this process is hard to anticipate, so the export of Chinese textiles and clothing is hard to anticipate, too. This requests us start to develop the research of textiles and clothing export strategy as soon as possible. Firstly, this thesis brief reviews the development course of our country' s textiles and clothing trade. In this foundation, the author analyzes the opportunity and the challenge to export trade, which our country' s textiles and clothing industry faces in After-quota Era. This thesis gives key elaboration on our country' s textiles and clothing exports strategy from macroscopic and microscopic level in After-quota Era.
