From the electricity system reform on, the electricity industry of our nation basically forms the situation that "power plant and the electric net going separately, running through price competition". What's important and urgent to each power plant is how to use strategic analysis to plan its own specific strategy in order to guarantee competitive advantage for the transition period out of order.As the important part of the power industry, the company of heat & power will compete with the company generating electricity only on the market for its electricity products. With rapid progress of the national economy, our nation's power industry is developing with fast speed. The electricity company by using coal must face not only the competition from each other in the same industry but the pressure from the price rising of raw material including coal and water and so on. On the base of analysis on the macro environment and competitive environment of Langgou Heat & Power Company and through the analysis on its SWOT, this thesis indicates its competitive advantage and disadvantage, opportunity and threats, make it clear about its position on the power market.Because of the identity of electricity product the essence of competition between power companies is cost competition. So this thesis puts forward that low-cost competition is the inevitable choice of Langgou Heat & Power Company. By the use of value-chain, from the three aspects of value activity, inner relation and outer relation of value-chain it introduces three ways to get the competitive advantage from low-cost competitive strategy taken by the company. At the end, considering the two main factor affecting the cost of electricity-generating companies which are capital quality and management, this thesis brings forward six measures for Langgou Heat & Power Company to carry out the low-cost competitive strategy including to enlarge the scale of units especially single unit capacity, to improve capital quality; to establish and push advanced human resource system for ensuring low-cost competitive strategy; to carry out target cost management according to the character of company production and to decrease production and operating cost from running, inspection and equipment reconstruction; to enforce management for fuel and material supply, emphasis at...
