China's Social Medical Insurance, Positioning Research, And The Role Of The Market

Social medical insurance system is one important respect of social security systems. It is a safety net and a fair regulator. While, with the high-speed development of economy in recent years, our social medical security systems have deteriorated increasingly. High price of medical treatment and low covering rate of medical insurance make accessibility and equity of health services decline year after year. Mostly residents are being in medical treatment panic. Actually, there are many reasons, but the main reason is improper orientation of government in the society medical insurance. So, this thesis mostly analyzes the problem. This thesis is made of six parts.The foreword introduces why we choose this topic and the backgrounds of the thesis. Part one looks back to the domestic and foreign researches on the problem. Part two makes the economics analysis to medical insurance market. Part three discusses the typical system models and the major characteristics of social medical insurance in some countries in the world. Part four looks back the choice of social medical insurance system in planned economy period and market economy period of China. Part five focuses on the problem of social medical insurance in planned-economy period and market-economy period, and its basic reason. Part six is about the design of social medical insurance system and the discussion how to distribute the responsibility of the market and government reasonably by econometrics method.
