Teleprocessing change so quickly that PHS(Personal Handy Phone System) has been used in more than twenty countries in the world. The tempo is stupendous. Japan started the operation in 1995 firstly,but it was launched into business operation in China in 1998. Up to the present, more than 300 cities and regiones of China have opened the PHS and it has come into favour in these cities and regiones.PHS has played an important part in China mobile communications market and it has become major driving force in China Telecom operating income growth. How to achieve success in the fierce market competition is an important research topic for China Telecom and its city branches. Yunnan branch of China Telecom which I worked for has conducted a questionnaire survey in Kunming telecommunications market. The survey distributed 800 copies of the survey questionnaires, 768 were valid, and the response rate was 96%.On the basis of statistics and aggregation, the paper analyzes the current situation in Kunming telecommunications PHS market and has made a SWOT analysis. The paper also has made market segmentation and market positioning from the features of PHS users.Then it discusses the price, sales promotion and service marketing strategy for PHS in Kunming mobile communications market and proposes several issues to which should be pay more attention when making future development strategy. Finally,the paper makes five marketing plans and ten holiday sales promotion plans for different consumer groups.
