In recent years, with the introduction of the concept of Internet of Things, GPS (Global Position System) technology continues to improve as an important part of Internet of Things. The development of GPS hardware and software is rapid. GPS positioning and navigation technology began to affect all areas throughout various departments of the national economy, and also people's daily lives. Refering to all above, A GPS receiver systems based on ARM and WinCE 5.0 is designed in this thesis. Based on high sensitivity in the system, the latitude,longitude, altitude, speed, star maps and other real-time GPS location information got collected, storaged and displayed.In this thesis, a high sensitivity and high positioning accuracy GPS chip is selected for GPS signal acquisition, amplification, filtering and output. Selecting Samsung S3C2440 as the main chip,expanding Nand-Flash and Nor-Flash to storage the bootloader code, used to start the embedded WinCE operating system, expanding the corresponding SDRAM as memory for system running, touch-type LCD provides a good interactive interface. This thesis describes the principles and applications of GPS and other related knowledge. And introduces the basic principles of embedded operating system, designs the system hardware based on these theorys, complets the selection of GPS chips and GPS antenna, designs GPS receiver module and peripheral circuits, also S3C2440 main control module circuits are designed. After the completion of hardware design, this thesis introduces the WinCE 5.0 embedded operating system,analysises and customs the BSP of WinCE 5.0 using the Platform builder 5.0,implements serial driver and other drivers. Finally implements the system's overall program design in WinCE 5.0 operating system platform, implements visual acquisition and display of GPS information.The GPS receiver system has the advantages of small size, low cost and high sensitivity, and easy to expand, not only be applied to ordinary users, can also be used for land surveying, geological survey, transportation and other fields. GPS technology is an important part of Internet of Things, this thesis also has a certain significance for the realization of Internet of Things.
