In order to meet the needs of the development of steel and ferrous metallurgy industry, the state has put forward higher requirement on the technology of blast furnace ironmaking, in which one of the main indexes is the blast furnace delay ratio. The small set of blast furnace tuyere plays a key role, and it is an important equipment set into the wind system, which can ensure the normal production of blast furnace, undertaking the task of sending high temperature wind into the internal stove. In view of the low life but high cost of present small tuyere sleeves, and they cannot achieve the national requirements of energy saving and emission reduction, so in this paper it designs the new small tuyere sleeves. The new small tuyere sleeve adopts new researched materials, which greatly improved the life of new small tuyere sleeves, and reached national energy conservation and emission reduction request.According to the present situation of blast furnace small tuyere sleeves, sevice condition and damage mechanism, this paper proposes to use be-bronze Qe2 to produce small tuyere sleeve. And this advanced material has many functions, such as 735MPa for tensile strength, elongation rate of 12% and conductivity of 55% to IACS. Meanwhile, the softening temperature of this kind be-bronze small tuyere sleeve can reach as high as 550℃. Through analyzing the damaged structure, mechanical properties of matrix, composition microarea, electric conductivity and abrasion of present small tuyere sleeve, the paper has concluded that the iron and slag liquid are the main reasons to erode small tuyere sleeve. Also the paper has analyzed the erosion mechanism of copper small tuyere sleeve and the usage of be-bronze, and concluded that it is feasible to use be-bronze to replace copper blast furnace small tuyere sleeve.
