With the rapid development of China's economy, the energy situation is tense. Natural gas as a clean fuel and chemical materials, its output is steadily increasing. In recent years, China began developing the high sulphur field to meet the growing energy demands, but this process will inevitably emit SO2 to the air. This thesis take a high sour gas field development and gas purification plant in northeastern SiChuan as an example, analysising the preliminary impact of emitting SO2 on the plant in this area.The article mainly through monitoring 6 widely distributed plant leaves in 30 monitoring point of the gas field area 5 times (measured the sulfur, pH, chlorophyll content of each plant leaves), while basing on the study of the damage mechanism of SO2 on plants and the effect of SO2 on plants, use Excel and SPSS to analysis data.Through the analysis of variance and comparative in the group, the sulfur content in leaves of the 6 plants(rice, sweet potato, hot pepper, cedarwood, huangjing and affinis) is significantly increased by the effect of the SO2 gas emitting from the gas field (P<0.10). The pH of sweet potato leaves is significantly decreased by the effect of the SO2 gas emitting from the gas field (Group effect F (2,12)=5.047, P=0.026<0.1), the pH of other five plant leaves are not effected by the SO2 gas emitting from the gas field.chlorophyll content of sweet potato, hot pepper,huangjing leaves is significantly decreased by the effect of the SO2 gas emitting from the gas field (sweet potato Group effect F (2,14)=5.443, P =0.021<0.1; hot pepper Group effect F(2,14)=5.443, P=0.021<0.1; huangjing Group effect F (2,20)=8.265, P=0.002<0.1)Preliminary impact analysis result indicate:Six plant monitored has good response with the SO2 pollution, and the ability to absorb sulfur is:huangjing (6.934 g/kg)> hot pepper(5.510 g/kg)> affinis (4.800 g/kg)> cedarwood,(4.455 g/kg)>sweet potato(2.366 g/kg)>rice(1.293 g/kg); the impact of the SO2 from the gas field to the affinis is relatively minor, and the impact to huangjing, rice, sweet potato, hot pepper is relatively large; But according to the field investigation, all creatures in sampling points are normal without any injury during the whole monitoring time, which indicate that the gas field do not cause obviously substantial impact on local plants during the first operation year.
