In recent years, as China is increasingly becoming the biggest manufacturing country, it requairs increasingly demand for the use of aerospace, medical equipment, mold manufacturing, precision machining complex parts , requirements of high complexity equal parts precision machining profile belongs to a branch of mentioned above, thus upgrades the conventional WEDM , making it a closed-loop automatic WEDM becomes increasingly important. This paper introduces and analyzes development status of domestic and international WEDM, discussed existing inadequacies of the WEDM, and combined with the actual situation in current laboratory, designed and developed a molybdenum wire sets WEDM turntable automatic detection devices and closed-loop control system, the specific work as follows:1: In order to carry out the EDM wire cutting to compensate for molybdenum, this paper designed a single chip microcomputer as the core of the molybdenum wire diameter of the automatic data collection device, by using digital micrometer as the measuring mechanism coupled with the stepper motor and the slip track as a step up and drive mechanism, and ultimately realized the molybdenum wire for the measurement, the accuracy can be achieved 0.001um.2: In order to enable the automatic turntable indexing for WEDM , which means it can accurately locate the next indexing position of teeth, this paper designed a ARM2138-based core high-precision CNC rotary indexing Park, through a combination of the device of grating displacement sensor, and the corresponding algorithm, it archieved the function of the degree of precision points.3: To archieve the automatic operation in the cutting machine interface of up-level data from molybdenum wire diameter acquisition device, this paper designed PS/2 based protocol of the automated communication module, the device can monitor the situation in the absence of people under the operation of the interface to achieve automatic data entry and screen transitions, at present, this device operates with the initial realization of communication between WEDM, including POST and analog keyboard to send and receive data.Through on-site testing of the system, it is easy to operate, with its stable performance, easy to learn, feature rich and so on merit, which has a broad marketing application.
