The CNC technology and equipment has became a main aspect to judge the level of industrial development. After decades of progressing, the CNC system has now became more and more intellegent rather than a commands receiver, which can only drive the machine tools accoding to fixed procedure, but a task-oriented decision-maker who can perception, recognition, reasoning and judging according to different condicion and find the best way of machining. There are two key technologies in the implementation of intelligent CNC system, first the intelligent strategies for machining, and second, the integration of intelligent strategies with CNC system.The main purpose of using intelligent machining techonology is to optimize the cutting parameters in order to achive the balance of quality, efficiency and cost. In mechanical manufacture, all the cutting parameters were determined by the process engineer accoding to his or her experience and can't be changed to adapt the cutting status. This paper outlines a method to judge the cutting status by cutting force and modified the cutting parameters at real-time and a control system which contains a neural network adaptive controller based on the method was built. The system can get the cutting force by force sensors and a reference cutting force which represent good cutting status was set. The system will reduce the cutting parameters when the real cutting force is greater than the reference cutting force, and increase the cutting parametes when the real cutting force was smaller than the reference cutting force so that the cutting process will stay in a good status. A Simulink model was built and simulation experiments under different control parameters was done to determine the best structure and parameters of the control system. The results show that the control system was effective when the back engagement is mutate or creep.The intelligent CNC system must be developed based on open architecture CNC system. In this paper, the construction of open architecture software CNC system was analyzed based on the HITCNC system built in the laboratory. The operation principle of this CNC system was introduced in both hardware and software and the preliminary study on the integration of intelligent control strategy with the system was done. The interpreted of numerical control program was studied. First, introduced the grammar and the rules of reading. Than analyze the process of the interpreted and the key functions in the interpreter.
