With the development of national economy, the demand for the oil is increasing, but at this stage the exploitation of oil fields has been entered in the latter part and the oil reserves are diminishing. The existing beam pumping unit often have empty pumping, liquid hammer, as a result of its unadjustable pumping stroke and pumping frequency, causing great damage to the pumping unit and huge waste of energy. The existing non-beam pumping unit which has adjustable pumping stroke and pumping frequency, because of its shortcomings, their promotion and application are limited. With the prosperity and development of the oil industry, there is a urgent need for a new energy-saving pumping unit which has adjustable stroke and pumping frequency and can be used on a large scale, the composite pulley pumping unit has become the ideal choice with its adjustable pumping stroke and pumping frequency, simple structure, easy maintenance, low energy consumption and high efficiency. However, at present the main problems prevent composite pulley pumping unit from development are lack of reliable and practical speed regulation and reversing arrangements.This dissertation was premised on energy conservation and a fully research for an bi-directional pulse continuously variable transmission (CVT)which can conduct speed regulating and reversing was conducted in order to solve the problem of speed regulating and reversing of the composite pulley pumping unit. This paper dealing with the indicator diagram of a specific oil well, has planned and designed the bi-directional pulse CVT, putting forward a general and universal method for designing t bi-directional pulse CVT. Because of the method this paper provided has strong universality, so for other different wells, appropriate bi-directional pulse CVT can be designed according to the above-mentioned plan and design method. The dissertation has also compiled the control program for speed regulation and reversing arrangements of the bi-directional pulse CVT, change to the system control program, when oil extraction conditions (pumping stroke and pumping frequency) changes, according to the characteristics of motion for planning conditions, we can simply reset the parameters of the PLC control procedures with no need for any other changes, it is very economical and convenient. The composite pulley oil pumping unit equipped with this roller transmission is applicable to any conditions that can be used on a large scale. In order to integrate theory with practice, this article requires a physical model of the bi-directional pulse CVT to verify the feasibility of its working principle and the reliability of the control system.This bi-directional pulse CVT developed in this dissertation has solved the speed regulation and reversing problem of the composite pulley pumping unit, lay a solid foundation for the promotion of the composite pulley pumping unit, and has made contributions to energy conservation of the oil industry.
