Finite element numerical simulation technology is widely used in the field of sheet metal forming, it can verify the effectiveness of the design of part and mold in the early stages, and improve development efficiency. But the professional CAE software has a high demand for user's knowledge of FEM, and it can cause data loss between the conversions of CAD model and CAE model. So the development of integrated CAD/CAE system can make more factory use CAD and CAE technology, and it is significant to improve the design quality and reduce the development cycle.The research of this thesis is supported by the project of National Nature Science Foundation of China (NO.50905067) and China Postdoctoral Science Foundation project (NO.20080440930). The target of this thesis is develop a process-oriented sheet metal unforming simulation system SW-BEX (StampingWorks-Blank Estimation Xpert) based on SolidWorks Platform, and achieves the real CAD/CAE seamless integration.In this thesis, the development of the technology of numerical simulation has been summarized, and the integrated techniques of sheet metal unfolding base on SolidWorks platform is studied. This thesis is based on the design and development of the SW-BEX system, some basic theory and development tools about the system development has been studied, such as the basic theory of inverse approach of FEM, SolidWorks secondary development and etc.; Based on the analysis of the system's objective and requirements, a modular idea is taken to design the structure and the detailed function of the system; The design process and development process of the interface, functions, data structure of the system were introduced; And some key techniques of the system development were emphatically studied, such as meshing, show of finite element models, nodes searching and mapping, data storage and so on. The SW-BEX system was completed combined with the inverse solver and topology mesher of FASTAMP software. SW-BEX system used a process-oriented method of operation, and the operation tree and property page can guide users operation. The system can also consider real stamping conditions, such as constraint, friction, blank holder, PAD and drawbead, which can make the simulation more accuracy. At last, take typical sheet metal and auto floor part for example, use SW-BEX system to analyze them, and verified the utility and accuracy of the SW-BEX system.
