Advanced vertical lathing and milling composite machining center is a kind of crucial equipment influencing on national economy and security and is extensively applied to many fields, such as military industry, aerospace, automobile, shipbuilding, power generation, spinning, mould making and so on. However, in comparison with the machining accuracy of foreign CNC machining center, there is a tremendous gap in the machining accuracy, which severely impedes our development of manufacture. Besides the influent factors such as part manufacturing and machine assembling, error from thermal deformation because of inside and outside heat source of machine tools is another which cannot be neglected. The Common measure of heat dissipation cannot satisfy the requirement of machining accuracy. We should develop and establish the online compensating system of thermal deformation in order to produce the advanced CNC machining centersThe advanced CNC machining center's rotary table of this project is the largest heat source and it is my research key point. In terms of its thermal deformation, a compensating strategy based on errors measure was put forward. Furthermore, the feasible online compensating system of thermal deformation was developed. Through the experiment, its effectiveness was proved. Here are specific contents as follows:Firstly, based on the analysis of current status of the thermal compensating technology, a compensating method for rotary table was put forward.Second, UG was used to establish 3-D model of the rotary table and the thermal analysis was fulfilled on the 3-D model in ANSYS. According the result of thermal analysis, the component of largest thermal deformation was found, which guide us in arranging the sensors and optimizing the measuring positions.Finally, online compensating system of thermal deformation including software and hardware was developed, which could fulfill the aim of online detection and compensating of thermal errors. The practical compensation experiments could not be performed due to the limitation of conditions and time. But experiments were conducted on rotary table of another CNC vertical lathe offered by Qiqiha Heavy CNC Equipment CO. LTD to verify the function of basic modules of the compensation system. The experiment results proved the correctness and feasibility of online compensation algorithm and scheme.
