With the rapid development of electronic technology and gradual improvment of living standard, the rate of replacement of electrical and electronic equipments has been speeding up, resulting in a large number of e-waste. As the industry of waste household appliances (WHA) contains rich economic and social benefits, many countries and regions in the world are trying hard to make extensive researches in the WHA's recovery and reuse. WHA's recovery is the initial stage of the whole system, but China lag behind the research of this field and has not yet formed a reasonable waste recovery system of WHA. Chongqing now has the advantage in the area of WHA's recovery and disposal. Thus, this thesis made a systematic and in-depth study of the WHA's recovery system, in a tempt to enhance the WHA recycling, as well as to reduce the recycling cost and the environmental pollution in Chongqing and even in the country as a whole.A detailed analysis on the recovery status both in developed countries and regions such as the EU, the United States, Japan and mainland was studied in this thesis, especially extensive and in-depth study of Chongqing based on the full investigation. Secondly, the thesis made a summary of the research in the relative fields as the solid theoretical basis.The accurately predict of the amount of WHA is quite necessary for the establishment of the recovery system in Chongqing. This thesis calculated the sales of household appliances in the last few years, then identified the life of household appliances, and at last using a sub-time pro-rata method to forecast the amount of household appliances in Chongqing in the next 10 years, also its spatial and temporal distribution is studied.Based on the circular economy and the reverse logistics model of WHA, this thesis builds a recovery network system in Chongqing, consisting of 3 kinds of facilities: recovery station, recovery center, disassembly center, etc. And explored the build pattern of the WHA's recovery system. Theoretical studies have shown that it is suited to the needs of Chongqing.To ensure the recycle system run scientifically, six items of safeguard mechanism as follows:national level laws and regulations,prospective payment system,management information system, technology safeguard, advocacy action and public participation were suggested. This thesis made an in-depth study from different angles both in the country and in Chongqing. Finally, made an entire summary of this thesis and put forward the direction for further research.
