Environmental Effects Analysis Of The Export Trading Of Main Industries In China

With the acceleration of economic intergration, countries all over the world are related closely, and international trade develops infinitly. In the meantime, economies benefit a lot from international trade. However, enviromental probleoms come with the growth of economy, such as ecological damage, desertification of land, acid rain and greenhouse effect. It calls in question that the development of international trade causes environmental problems. What is the effect to enviroment caused by international trade after all?The environmental effects of international trade are multidimensional. There are three aspects including economics of scale, structure of industry and technology. The reciprocity of these aspects decides how and to what extend external trade affects enviroment. Normally, the expandion of economics of scale caused by trade expandion will aggravate environmental pollution, while technical progress caused by trade expandion will reduce environmental pollution and the enviromental effects from changes of structure of industry is uncertain. Based on this method, many scholars conduct a great quantity of researches. However, these researches have little meaning when it comes to problems in China because of different position, angle of view and objective. Domestic researches are mostly based on country or regions, less based on microeconomics. Considering this, this paper selects 19 representative industries and analyses their international trade and environmental problems. Through analyzing the effects of external trade to the pollution level in these industries, this paper tries to give some meaningful advices of dealing with environmental pollution from trade.The structure of the paper is: after revion of literature in this area, according to China's situation, it is theoretical analysis about the effects and mechanism to enviroment from international trade. The analysis is in three aspects:scale, structure of industry and technology. Whereafter, the paper adopted three different representative index to carry on econometrics'analysis on the 19 industries'external trade and pollution. The paper found that external trade aggravated China's pollution, however, structure of industry is coming to the direction of cleanness, and the reduction of pollution caused by technology progress exists. Based on the above, several suggestions are given from five aspects. International trade is not the primary cause of environmental pollution. Appropriate measures will be helpful to international trade moving to the favorable direction.
