In this paper, polyurushiol(PU) composite coatings and modified urushiol coatings were prepared by ultraviolet(UV) irradiation and its related physical and chemical properties were studied. The study is focused on the cured problem of lacquer and modified urushiol coatings. And these may provide some theoretical and experimental reference for the development of Chinese lacquer. It mainly contains the following three aspects:Polyurushiol/graphite and polyurushiol/copper composite conductive coatings were prepared from urushiol and graphite(copper) by UV irradiation. In addition, polyurushiol/Ag composite conductive coatings were prepared from urushiol and AgNO3 under UV irradiation by using in situ radical reduction approach. The composite conductive films were characterized by FT-IR, SEM, TG, XRD, EDS, etc. The results showed that composite conductive films, which had excellent electrical conductivity(The surface resistivity of Polyurushiol/graphite, polyurushiol/copper and polyurushiol/Ag composite conductive coatings were 119Ω.cm,13.1Ω.cm and 0.26Ω.cm.) and good resistance against chemical medium. could be formed under UV irradiation.Polyurushiol-Fe(PUFe), polyurushiol-Ni(PUNi) and polyurushiol-Pr(PUPr) coatings were prepared by UV irradiation according to coordination of hydroxyl groups with metal ions, and the samples were characterized by FT-IR, XPS, SEM, UV-Vis, TG, etc. The results showed that UV cured PUFe films had a very high surface glossiness and good resistance against ultraviolet; UV cured PUNi films had good physical and chemical properties; UV cured PUPr films had a good catalytic performance for polymerization of methyl methacrylate. Moreover, PUPr films were easy to remove after the catalytic reaction.Urushiol-Si(Usi) and urushiol-P(UP) were synthesised form urushiol and ethyl silicate(phosphorus oxychloride) according to coordination of hydroxyl groups with non-metal ions. And then polyurushiol-Si(PUSi) and polyurushiol-P(PUP) coatings were prepared after irradiated by UV. The polymers were characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, TG, etc. And the tests showed that UV cured PUSi films had more excellent thermal stability than UV cured PU films.
