In the process of underground coal mining, the distortion of shaft is a serious problem. The main manifestation of this distortion is the deflection and deformation of cage guide, which will increase ascending resistance and cage ears wear. When this deformation develops to a certain extend, it may occur cage off and other major accidents.At home and abroad the measurement of deformation in the cage guide is mainly in manual measurement-based. Maintenance personnel from time to time take the cage down to the bottom of the well from the wellhead with a meter stick. They use it to measure the guide distance at different depths and then record a simple measurement data. This method is not only inefficient, but also very inaccurate. What's more, the deformation of cage guide can not be directly observed.In view of this, the topic has designed a cage guide distance measuring instrument. The measuring instrument is composed with laser range sensors, shaft encoder, the collector and other components. The laser range sensors are used to measure the guide horizontal distance and the shaft encoder is used to measure the guide longitudinal distance. The collector is responsible for collecting and storing the data from the two kinds of sensors. Before measuring, the staff configure the detection distance through DIP switch. Then they start detecting distance following a slow down cage from the wellhead to the bottom. We can directly observe the distortion of guide after the data transfered to PC.The guide distance measuring instrument has good man-machine interface, high precision and can be real-time monitoring. There is no automation products based on laser ranging sensor to measure the guide distance in domestic coal mine, so it has a high application value.
