The polymer synthetic paper is squeezed out and formatted with the main raw materials calcium carbon filler and polymer resin and simultaneously kinds of assistant agents are added, which is also called stone paper. It makes use of principle of polymer surface chemistry and technology of filled and modification. The multifunction material is endowed with character of plastic and traditional paper. It has large intensity, good tear resistance, good flame retardant, good acid and alkali, good printing, can be written, durability and other characters. Because the polymer synthetic paper production process does not have pollution, simultaneously may been recycled completely and waste polymer can be used as raw materials therefore the appearance of polymer synthetic paper is a significant breakthrough of modern paper market.As the important general used resin, PP and PE have been researched widely. PP has better stress fracturing resistance, mechanical properties and abrasion performance, better heat resistance, chemical stability and processing mobility, etc. but cold resistance, creep resistance, dimensional stability of products are bad. PE has fine low temperature, electricity insulation, chemical stability, processing mobility, etc. however heat resistance, aging resistance performance, stress fracturing resistance are bad. So much researchers focus their study on the field of modify polyolefin in recent years. The paper researched boric acid ester modified calcium carbonate and filled polyolefin first and then discussed the result.The study of mechanical properties showed that, after being modified by the coupling agent, the mechanical properties of composites were significantly improved. With the increasing amount of calcium carbonate filled, the mechanical properties of composites first increased and then decreased, when the filling is large it is difficult to process. As the decrease of particle size of calcium carbonate, the mechanical properties of composites also first increased and then decreased, the appropriate particle size of calcium carbonate is 600-800mesh.The study of the rheological properties showed that, with the increasing of temperature and shear rate, both pure polyolefin and composites'shear viscosity would show a decreasing trend. As the calcium carbonate particle size decreased, the composites'shear viscosity also would show a decreasing trend. When the optimum amount of coupling agent is 2 percent, it is easily to process moreover the cost is lower. Adding a small amount of calcium carbonate can reduce the viscosity and improve the liquidity.The study of the crystal properties showed that pure polyolefin's crystal structure is regular and has clear crystal interface, but high calcium carbonate filled polyolefin will make the crystal interface blurred. The calcium carbonate not modified filled polyolefin would show significant agglomeration.if it is modified the agglomeration will disappear.The study of scanning electron microscope showed that the calcium carbonate master batch made by ourselves uniformly dispersed in resin and achieved a fine combination with resin, whose internal structure is close and none bubble. The synthetic paper's surface has porous structure, however the surface of the thick products is smooth and the surface of the thin products is roughness. After being coated the products' surface is uniform and smooth.
