Contton, a most important natural textile, is widely used in clothing fields for its excellent properties such as softness, warm and comfortable. However, cotton fabric is susceptible to haimful bacteria, and may adversely affect human health. Ag+ plays an important role on functional modification of antimicrobial textiles, and Ag-type antibacterial agent has become a hotspot in the between of experts at home and abroad.First of all, polyacylate emulsion was modified by making its branch contained double amino in the laboratory, so it can complexation Ag+. Polyacrylate antimicrobial emulsion-Ag+ is made by mixturing 0.5% (o.w.f) polyacylate emulsion and 500mg/L AgNO3. The parameters was showed as follows:their volume was 25︰1, pH was 5, temperature was 20℃, time was180min.In this paper, the antibacterial finishing of contton knitted fabrics was carried out by using the plyacrylate antimicrobial emulsion-Ag+ compound antinbacterial agent following the finishing process of pad-drying. Influences of warious process parameters on antibacterial effect, washability and bursting strength were analyzed by experiments.On the basis of ensuring good antibacterial effect and maintaining the basic performances of fabric, the best finishing process parameters were: the bath rate was 1︰50, pH was 5, curing emperature was 160℃, curing time was180s.The rate of antibacterial fabric against S.aureus and E.coli was more than 99%, the rate of antibacterial of antibacterial Fabric maintained above 80% after washed 30 times, bursting strength keeped at 81%, it is enough for actual application.After fisishing with plyacrylate antimicrobial emulsion-Ag+, the performances of drape, flexibility and moisture absorbability of the cotton knitted fabric has been improved, but air permeability has been reduced.SEM map shows that the surface of anti-bacterial cotton fiber have plyacrylate antimicrobial emulsion-Ag+ which was form membrane; AIR-FTIR map shows that new absorption peaks come from plyacrylate antimicrobial emulsion-Ag+; XRD map shows that the crystallinity of cotton fiber hasn't significant change after antimicrobial finishing; TG map shows that the thermal property of cotton fiber hasn't significant change after antimicrobial finishing.
