Bleach catalyst has good properties, such as less used dosage, environment- friendly, and efficient low temperature bleaching, it meets social requirements of saving water and energy, reducing emission, so it has important practical significance and broad application prospect in the detergent industry.This paper studies the effect of catalyst BLA on stain removal of detergent Tide HE and Tide Jeston HE, and on the performances of spandex fabric whiteness, stretch recovery and bursting strength after washed with catalyst BLA by simulating household wash process. Also the yellowing and damage mechanism of spandex fiber after washed with catalyst BLA are analyzes by using FTIR-ATR,XRD,TG, and finally the effect of catalyst BLA on the dyed fabrics and dyestuff is studies.The results show that the catalyst BLA can significantly improve the property of Tide HE to remove the tea and curry stains at low temperature, but has improvement slightly at 60℃; the effect of catalyst BLA on the stain removal of Tide Jeston HE is not obviously.The effect of catalyst BLA on the whiteness of fabrics is studied. The results show that the high whiteness of spandex fabric decreased with the times of wash cycles and the dosage of catalyst BLA increased, while low whiteness of fabrics increased when catalyst BLA is added to Tide HE. It has little effect on the whiteness after wash when catalyst BLA is added to Tide Jeston HE. FTIR-ATR analysis showed that isocyanate group in polyurethane was oxidized to quinone-imide chromophoric group which leads to yellowing of spandex fiber duo to the catalyst BLA improve the reaction activity of SPB. The effect of catalyst BLA on the stretch recovery of fabrics is studied. Theresults show that the stretch recovery of spandex fabric is decreased when catalyst BLA is added to Tide HE, the degree of decreased is related with the times of wash cycle and the washed fabrics, the more the times of wash cycle, the greater the degree of decreased, the effect on the stretch recovery of cellulosic fabric is greater while on the synthetic fiber is smaller. It has little effect on the stretch recovery when catalyst BLA is added to Tide Jeston HE. FTIR-ATR analysis showed that the chain cleavage of ether in spandex fiber is leads to the decreased of stretch recovery; XRD and TG analysis showed that the decreased of crystallinity, thermal-stability after washed 15 times with Tide HE/BLA.The effects of catalyst BLA on the bursting strength and fabric style are studied. The results show that the bursting strength of the cellulosic/spandex fabric is decreased after washed 15 times when catalyst BLA is added to Tide HE, the performance of drape ability and surface roughness are increasing, while to the synthetic/spandex fabrics, the effect on bursting strength, drape ability, surface roughness are not obvious. It has little effect on the bursting strength and fabric style when catalyst BLA is added to Tide Jeston HE.The effect of catalyst BLA on the dyed fabrics is studied. The results show that catalyst BLA has little effect on the dyed fabric. The effect of catalyst BLA on the degradation of dye with H2O2 was studied. The catalyst BLA can significantly reduce the activation energy of H2O2, and also accelerate this reaction rate and increase the degradation rate of the dye. The optimum temperature is 40℃for H2O2 / catalyst system, when the temperature is higher than 60℃, the improvement of reactive properties is not obvious.
