Heavy oil is a rich colloid and bituminous more hydrocarbon complex mixture, the characteristic is high density, high viscosity, illiquid. Because of the density of heavy oil is closed to water, and the speed of small droplets settlement gathered is slow, heavy oil's dehydration is in the face of great difficult problem technically. With the world's economy grows rapidly, the demand of oil has risen sharply. When the routine petroleum resources become fewer and fewer, the heavy oil, which accounted for 70% of global oil resources,it's exploitation becomes to a worldwide theme. An oil refinery has conducted the research in the thick oil dehydration technology, and the double subsidence by chemical demulsification technology is used for heavy oil's dehydration. When the concentration of original demulsifier is 150mg/L in the first demulsification, and the concentration of original demulsifier is 1500mg/L in the second demulsification, the water concent in oil is still in 6.4%, the oil concent in sewage is 6000mg/L, and the mechanical impurities content is 43400mg/L.This process cann't achieve the request that the water concent in oil belows 5%.This essay makes improvement in the dehydration process. First at all.it selects the most suitable demulsifier as FT-16, then it confirms the best concent of the original demulsifier and FT-16 for 37.5mg/L and 75mg/L,the residence time of demulsification for 24h.Secondly,it confirms the best concent of original demulsifier for 150mg/L, retention time for 65h in the second demulsification by experiments. By this process, the water content of oil is below 5%, the oil concent in sewage is 3000mg/L, and the mechanical impurities content is 29300mg/L.This has not noly achived the industrial application request, but also reduced effectively to the pressure of ecological environment.
