With the rapid development of economy, the request of injection mold product is getting higher and higher for people, which requires the development and design of injection mold to be more fast and accurate, in order to improve the market competitiveness of products. The standard mould base of injection mould is as the key component of the mould of injection mould, the design cycle and quality of the standard mould base of injection mold directly impact on the product cycle and the quality. Therefore, the automation of the mould structure design is improved, the design efficiency of the mould structure is improved by the secondary development of the UG software, it is of practical significance and value to research and develop standard mould base library of injection mould for plastics.Firstly, the features and functions of the UG software required in the thesis are introduced, the UG/Open of the secondary development tools of UG is emphasized. including the use, composition, structure, character and application method. Secondly, the key technology of development of the mould base library system are introduced, including parametric design technology and database management technology that can be used in functions and application modes in system development. The database is established by the platform of Microsoft SQL Server 2000, so that the parameter database is called for the subsequent development. In the development process, the overall scheme of the system is designed, the system structure for stardard mould base library of injection mould based on UG software in the development environment Visual C++ 6.0 is presented, the application program of the model and the interface program the database that the UG/Open API functions are used are created by the setting of the environment variables, the establishment of the project directory, the customizing of the menus, the establishment of the dialogs, which are compiled and linked, the documents implemented are exported. On the basis of this, the development of automatic assembly system is completed, then the assembly exploded diagram is exported. Through the system, not only the function designed rapidly of standard mould base library is achieved, the product intelligent and automation are also achieved in a certain extent, the datas of the design are stored and managed while the database technology is taken advantage of. Example show:it is great practical value that the research is proposed to improve product design efficiency and shorten the development cycle of the new products, simultaneously the feasible technical route and method are provided for intelligent design and development of the other products.The design ideas and method in the thesis are not only suitable for the secondary development of standard mould base library of injection mould for plastics, but also provide the reference and ideas for the standard parts library of other products.
