Reliable ventilation system is very important to safe, efficient and economic production in mine. The reliability study of ventilation system is not very popular in non-coal mines, however be done frequently in coal mines. Meanwhile, with the depletion of the shallow resources, more and more domestic metal mines are deeping underground more than one kilometer, whose ventilation system are more and more complicated with more roadway. So, more emphasis be put on the reliability study of ventilation system in non-coal mines is very important with great practical significance.This paper study the ventilation system of Jinchuan Longshou Mine. Through lots of investigation work in site, such as datas collection, wind speed and wind volume measurement, the method with FMEA and FTA was combined to study system reliability. FMEA analysis, using the risk priority number RPN, shows that improving the network design, feedback system are the most effective way to strength the reliability of ventilation system, and strengthening ventilation structures inspection, repairing or reinstalling are also necessary. Triangular fuzzy FTA method was established with "mine ventilation system failure" as the top event, air flow interruption, airflow reverse, airflow circulation, air flow short circuit, leakage, toxic and harmful gases as the first grade events, and feedback system failure as the condition door. The results show that the large number of minimal cut sets is high to 549 for the first grade event 7 named"monitoring the feedback system failure"mainly. With most of the remainders being in range of 0.0050~0.0100. The first event 7 "feedback system failure" set the main reason for the large number, is an effective way to increase system reliability. Meanwhile, it is also very important to improved ventilation. At last, several technical measures to improve the ventilation system reliability are carried out.
