Roadheader's external spray is the key part of dust controlling in heading face, its performance not only affect the site working staff's healthy, but also for safety production. But our existing method and equipment of reducing dust have the common problem of low efficiency of reducing dust. Its main reason is the spray parameters are designed not very reasonable, making the distribution of spray flow not according to the actual producing dust's situation, thus affecting the efficiency of reducing dust.In order to solve the above problems, basing on the research of the mechanism of reducing dust by spray and the effect factors of dust reducing, the longitudinal roadheader's external spray is numerical simulated by using the CFD software, obtained the influence of spray particle's diameter, velocity and concentration distribution under different spray parameters. In order to more accurate draw the relationship between external spray parameters and dust reducing efficiency, establishing the mathematical model of external spray's dust reducing. And based on the model choosing highest efficiency of dust reducing as the goal, spray parameters are optimized by using GA toolbox of Matlab, making dust reducing efficiency has increased 17.45%. The studies have certain directive significances on flow inspection and spray design adjustment, and spray parameters formulation for longitudinal roadheader's external spray.
