This paper was focus on the digital printing process on two kinds of leathers using pigment and dye. The effect of various factors on printing were analyzed by one-factor analysis and orthogonal experiment, the rubbing fastness, K?S value and feel of printed leather were evaluated to obtained the optimal printing processes.Results show that:1. The blue sheep leather can resist to steam, but the white do not. So, the research studies digital printing process of the blue one using ink of dye and studies the digital printing process of another one using ink of pigment.2. The pretreatment of alkali solution is better than acid solution when using process one in digital printing of blue sheep leather. The optimum printing process is spraying alkaline solution(sodium bicarbonate 5 g?m2,urea5 g?m2, penetrating agent 10 g?m2)â†'dryâ†'steaming for 60 minâ†'washâ†'wash with hot waterâ†'dry. Properties of the printing leather: Tensile strength is 10.15 MPa, The fastness to wet-rubbing is 3-4, the fastness to dry-rubbing is 4-5, the K?S value is 23.425, water vapor permeability 2017 g/.(m~2·d).3. The available treatment condition of two kinds of finishing agents is 0.24L/m2, curing between 70℃and 80℃for 10 minutes. Properties of the printing leather: Tensile strength is 11.47 MPa, The fastness to wet-rubbing is 3, the fastness to dry-rubbing is 4-5, the K?S value is 32.577, water vapor permeability 1854 g/(m~2·d).4 The optimal ink-jet printing procedure of leather(white) is obtained: spray crosslinker 60%â†'80℃pre-bakeâ†'spray pigmentâ†'80℃pre-bakeâ†'spray crosslinker 30%â†'150℃bakingâ†'leather finishing(70℃, 15min,0.6L/m2).The fastness to wet-rubbing is 4-5,the fastness to dry-rubbing is 5 ,tensile strength is 8.91MPa,K?S value 49.285,stiffness 65.7mm and water vapor permeability 1108.4g/.(m~2·d) respectively.
