The coal is main energy resource for a long term due to the natural endowment of fossil fuels in our contry. Moreover, the coal is also important raw material for chemicals. Therefore, the effective conversion and clean use of coal are of great significance for the healthy and orderly progress of China's economy and society. The coal carbonization in a low/medium temperature has long history. Catalytic hydrogenation of its tar for synthesis oil has beeing developed. After long-term practice and improvement, the coal carbonization technology has changed greatly, and become one of the most important coal conversion technologies. At present, there are various technologies for the coal carbonization, such as internally heated, and externally heated, every have its advantages.Pulverized coal carbonization of DG internally heated with solid heat carrier is an advanced technology. It has some industrial utilization value and advantage in terms of the equipment enlargement and raw materials powder. In this paper, based on project of comprehensive utilization of Jinjie 120000 tons low/medium temperature coal tar of Shenmu Fuyou energy technology Co., LTD, the main coal carbonization technologies were presented, and pulverized coal carbonization processes with solid heat carrier were described in detail.In this paper, the main problems of industrialization of DG process were analyzed, and some ideas on how to solve these problems were put forward. The significance, economic and environmental benefit in the process of popularization and application of this technology were discussed. At the same time, the developments of coal carbonization technology were forecasted. It is found that the results of the industrial demonstration have significance to further popularize.The paper which provides the solution to the main problems in the implementation process of engineering, looks the vast future development of the Low temperature coal pyrolysis industry and technology, concludes the main route of coal co-production headed by coal pyrolysis, is significative to the development of coal pyrolysis industry and the optimization of such projects.
