The sol-gel method was applied to prepare micro-nano ZnO sol using zinc acetate dehydrate, sodium hydroxide, deionized water as raw materials, and the properties of silk fabric finished with the ZnO sol was studied. On this basis, nano-ZnO sol with uniformity stability was prepared using zinc acetate dehydrate, sodium hydroxide and ethanol as raw matrials. The effects of the concentration of zinc acetate dihydrate, reaction temperature and time, reactant ratio [Zn(Ac)2]:[LiOH] on the formation of sol were investigated. The prepared ZnO sol was characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Fourier transform infrared microspectroscopy(FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and laser size detector. It was applied to silk fabric with dip-pad-cure process. It was found that white electric conductive material was formed on silk surface. The effects of sol concentration, PVP concentration, pick-up, curing temperature and time on electric conductive properties of silk fabric were studied. The optimum process was obtained through a series of experiments:volume concentration of sol 60%,3% of PVP, pick-up 100%, curing at 160℃and 3min. Under this condition, the electric conductive property of the treated silk fabric was the best.It was found that the silk fabric obtained had certain electric conductive properties. The treated silk fabric remained the original wearability, and the strength and whiteness had no distinct decrease. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope photos showed that nano-ZnO was finished on silk fabric, and formed transparent conductive film on the surface.
