At present,the silk industry has begun to raise a single male silkworm and prepare various types of silk products,which is believed to improve product quality.As far as a silkworm variety is concerned,its male group has many advantages compared with the female group.First,it is strong and easy to raise.Second,it eats less mulberries,high feed efficiency,low cost of sericulture,and generally saves cost about 10%,male silkworm cocoons has higher silk yielding than female silkworm cocoons,and the silk production can be increased by about 15%.Therefore,the gender is regulated,specialized in rearing male group in the production compares with the both male and female silkworms are currently mixed,can greatly improve the quality of silk products and the economic benefits of sericulture.In this thesis,the basic parameters of male silkworm cocoons including cocoon shell ratio,sericin content ratio and monofilament fineness were tested.On the basis of comprehensive understanding of the basic parameters of male silkworm cocoons and bave,the mechanical properties of male and female silk and common silk and male silk fabric were explored.Using reactive dyes,the dyeing properties of common silk and male silk fabric were systematically studied.The results showed that,male silkworm cocoons compared with common silkworm cocoons,male silkworm cocoons reelability,average monofilament fineness were within the normal range,sericin content ratio was lower than the normal range.Moisture regain of male silkworm cocoon shell was higher than that in standard condition.The moisture regain of male silk and common silk were within the range of common silk moisture regain,and the silk reeling yield of cocoon shell were higher than the normal range.Cocoon shell ratio was within the normal range of dry cocoon shell ratio.The average breaking strength of bave was higher than the normal range and the average extension at break of bave was lower than the normal range.Using tha same common silkworm varieties,the tensile property of male silk was slightly better than that of female silk.Using the sex linkage balance dead silkworm varieties cultivated by Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences and common silkworm varieties,the male silk had strong breaking strength and initial modulus than common silk,but extension at break of male silk was smaller than of the common silk.With the common silkworm varieties,the latitude,longitude breaking strength and tear strength of the male silk fabric was better than common silk fabric.After dyeing with reactive dyes,male silk fabrics were significantly better than common silk fabrics in K/S value and luster,and the luster of male silk fabrics were bright.There were almost no difference in the color fastness to washing,the color fastness to perspiration,the color fastness to soaping and the color fastness to rubbing of male silk fabrics and common silk fabrics,and the color fastness was excellent.
