Silk/viscose blended fiber is the viscose fiber added to the silk when it is spun. Because of the integration of the silk, the fiber has a new function, but it has little research on bleaching and dyeing processing of this fiber. Also consider that the silk is added to the viscose fiber in the way of blending, if the processing conditions are severe, it's likely to cause fiber damage and loss of the protein in the fiber. Therefore, the focus of this paper is that completing the bleaching and dyeing of the fiber without damaging it and retaining the protein of it as much as possible. In the bleaching process, we use three bleaching methods which include hydro reduction, hydrogen peroxide oxidation, and hydrogen peroxide/TAED oxidation method to bleach, then discuss the effect of the concentration of the bleaching agent, bleaching temperature, time and surface active agent on fiber whiteness, strength and amino acid content, on this basis, we develop a process optimization, and run IR, X-ray diffraction and amino acid tests on the bleached fiber. In the dyeing process, we use direct dyes, acid dyes and reactive dyes which are suitable for dyeing silk and viscose to dye the silk/viscose blended fiber, and discuss the effect of the concentration of dyes, temperature, pH, neutral salts on the ultimate rate of dyeing and K/S value. Last we test the properties and dye fastness of the fiber which has been optimized dyed. The results show that, hydrogen peroxide/TAED bleaching can bleach the fiber at low temperature and gentler process, in this way, the fiber can get a higher whiteness and lower strength decreased, at the same time, amino acids loss less. A number of tests show that fiber structure after processing has not been changed. In addition, in dyeing process, the fiber dyed by active dyes with two active groups can get higher ultimate rate dyeing and better fastness.
