The organic bridging ligand triazole groups have many characteristics such as more coordination atoms, strong coordination ability, etc; their coordination polymers have good luminescent,magnetic and adsorption properties, biological activity and the broad prospects of the function of new materials, ion-exchang and super-molecular self-assembly.In the work, we have synthesized and characterized nine coordination polymers using flexible ligands 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)propane and transition metal cations Zn(II), Cu(II): {[Zn(btp)(bdc)(H2O)]·H2O}n (1), {[Zn(btp)(ip)(H2O)]·1.5H2O}n (2), {[Zn(btp)(NO2-bdc)(H2O)]·2H2O}n (3), {[Zn(btp)(phth)][Zn(btp)(phth)0.5Cl]·H2O}n (4), {[Zn(btp)(phth)]·CH3OH·2H2O}n (5), {[Zn2(btp)2(btec)]·10H2O}n (6) , {[Zn(btp)(fum)]·3(H2O)}n (7), {[Cu4(OH)2(btp)(SO3-bdc)2(H2O)2]·4H2O}n (8), {[Cu3(btp)(SO3-bdc)(H2O)] }n (9). These compounds have been synthesized and characterized by elementary analyses, IR, thermogravi-metric analyses and X-ray diffraction analyses.We found that polymers 1,2,3,5,6,9 display the two-dimensional network structure and polymers 4,7,8 display the three-dimensional structure.The ligand btp exhibits the anti-anti-conformation,anti-gauche-conformation,gauche-gauche-conformation. In order to gain stable complexes, the flexible ligand btp may change itself conformation. Besides, the structure and Characteristics of complexes also have been effected by the different position of the carboxyl of carboxlic acid.
