In order to study the effect on the microstructure, properties and different ways to degum on the bast, this paper studies BP in following aspects:Study the morphological structure of BP samples by means of optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy. The bast of BP is covered with much pectin on the surface, the surface of the treated fibers become smoother as compared to that of untreated materials. The cross-section shows over round with lumen, and the lumen are different with different maturity. Moreover, multiple fibril structure is researched via TEM to find the fibril and microfibril. BP fiber's moisture regain is measured by the oven method with moisture absorption and liberation curves being established, which show that BP fiber has high moisture regain with better moisture property than cotton and flax.Study crystal structure, degree of crystallization and orientation degree of different BP samples by X-ray diffraction, and meanwhile, the physical and mechanical properties of BP fibers are researched relatively with a tensile testing machine, Results show that the degree of crystallization degree and the mechanical properties of biochemical degumming and micro-wave degumming are infior traditional chemical degumming.Study on molecular composition of different BP samples with infrared spectrum and meanwhile, thermodynamics performance of BP samples are researched relatively with DSC. Results show that various treatment methods remove the non-cellulosic ingredient from the bast of BP effectively.Quadratic regression orthogonal design of BP oxygen microwave radiation of a bath of alkali degumming was explored to discuss the various technological factors on unglued after microwave irradiation by the residual gum content of residual lignin to determine the optimal conditions. The results show that optimal conditions:the temperature is 99℃, the concentration of NaOH solution is 8 g/L, time is 45 min, concentration of H2O2 is 5 g/L.
