Study On The Properties Of Cotton-Like Polyester False-Twist Textured Yarn And Its Fabric

Cotton fabric has good moisture absorption, soft, comfortable to wear and other excellent properties, but the supply of raw materials of cotton is obvious gaps. Due to the limited arable land, our country's short-term supply of cotton can be not greatly enhanced, and hence the price is still hovering at a high level. While polyester fiber accounts for 55% of the total production of synthetic fibers, these polyester fibers are of low level excess capacity, low value-added products, severely homogeneous competition and small profit. Polyester industry faces with the upgrading and transformation. Polyester cotton-like is modified the existing polyester, combining with spinning, weaving and finishing transforming the low-end polyester in order to resolve the current high cotton prices and promote the sustainable development of China's textile industry.From the 1970s, the developed countries had begun to study the bionic fabric, like the Japanese new synthetic fabrics. These new synthetic fabrics do not contain the simulation cotton products, especially polyester filament yarn imitation cotton products. The traditional imitation cotton is almost to cut the filament into staple. The process is long, energy consumption and loss of excellent properties of polyester. Polyester filament false-twist textured yarn is directly through false-twist textured and network deformation process, shortening the entire process, reducing energy consumption and improving production efficiency. But we are lack of systematic research on the simulation cotton of false-twist textured yarn's yarn structure, surface gloss, fabric properties and have little research on these product developments.In this article, first of all we have study the three different components polyester false-twist textured yarns'structure and performance, and then we get the polyester false-twist textured yarn basic process. On these bases, we study the three cotton-like of false-twist textured yarn's basic properties. Then we study the comfort of the fabric and appearance. Finally we study the fabric hand style. Thus we have a more comprehensive study of the cotton-like of false-twist textured yarn and its fabric structure and performance, the results are as follow:1. Compared with the polyester filament yarn structure and performance of POY/POY, POY/FDY and FDY/FDY, we determine the POY/POY filament false-twist textured as the cotton-like yarn.2. Cotton-like polyester filament false-twist textured is uneven along the length of the yarn. The rough are also apparent. Before the break point, cotton-like polyester false-twist textured yarn tensile curves are basically consistent with the pure cotton yarn. To compare with the pure cotton yarn, cotton-like polyester false-twist textured yarn has a good surface wetting and wicking performance, and its sheen is also better than the conventional false-twist textured yarn, but there is a large gap to the pure cotton yarn.3. Compared with polyester-cotton double-sided fabric, cotton-like fabric has a better static drape, shape retention and warm feeling. Cotton-like fabric's vapor permeability is similar with polyester-cotton double-sided fabric, but cotton-like fabric's thermal resistance is poor.4. Under the low load test, the results show that cotton-like fabric be more deformation and good forming fabric. Cotton-like fabric's stretch power response rate, and compression power response rate are bigger than polyester-cotton double-sided fabric, which meant that cotton-like fabric's elastic recovery performance is good. Cotton-like fabric's fluffy is poor.
