Indoor air pollution has become a common phenomenon with the application of a large number of interior decoration materials, and using passive indoor air purification products could be one way to improving indoor air quality. However, the types of products are variously and disorderly, and there is no objective and comprehensive test/evaluation method for those products. In order to test and evaluation purificatory performance of passive indoor air purification products objectively and comprehensively,4 formaldehyde cleaning agents products have been selected as the research objects in this paper, according to its purifying principle, three test index for purifying effect were proposed:the time of purifying formaldehyde to the concentration limits (T), the total mass of purified formaldehyde (M) and the mass of purified formaldehyde in plank (md). In this paper,4 formaldehyde cleaning agents have been tested in airtight chamber with this three indexes, and the purificatory performance has been evaluated comprehensively. At the same time, the impact of different experimental parameters on the testing results also been tested and analysed. The 4 formaldehyde cleaning agents were tested according to《purificatory performance of coatings with air purification》(JCT 1074-2008). As results showing, the purification efficiency of all samples were above 80% and in line with JCT 1074 requirements, however, at the end of the test of some samples, formaldehyde concentration were not decreased to the standard concentration limits (0.1 mg/m3), in other words, the air quality could not meet the requirements for healthy after using those samples. So just using purification efficiency in 24h to evaluate the purificatory performance of formaldehyde cleaning agents is a one-sided way. In order to give consumers a better guidance on purchasing products and lead enterprise to improve their product performance, it's necessary to add T, which representing purification speed and total purification quantity M to the purificatory performance index to test and evaluate products comprehensively.Inject formaldehyde solution into the airtight chamber in which cleaning agent sample was placed, test formaldehyde concentration hourly until the formaldehyde concentration decreased to the standard concentration limits, record the time required, which was T. The curve of formaldehyde decreasing with time in the air-tight chamber is an logarithmic degradation curve. Test result show that T of samples a\b\c were 6 h\4 h\36h and sample d can not clean formaldehyde to limit concentration, the gap between samples is obvious. T of 4 samples also been tested with different testing factors, result showing that, in the case that formaldehyde injection quantity not meet the saturated purification quantity, coating area of sample has great influence on T, amount of sample has a little influence on T and double quantity of Formaldehyde injection could increase T but not doubling it.Inject formaldehyde solution repeatedly into the airtight chamber in which cleaning agent sample was placed, until the sample can not clean the formaldehyde to concentration limit, the mass of all formaldehyde has been cleaned is M. M of samples a/b/c/d were33.13\13.72\0.74 \0.073mg/g, which have big gaps. M of 4 samples also been tested with different testing factors, result showing that, amount of sample has no influence on M, and double coating area could decrease M slightly, that is because the test results of M contains a little part of leakage, and double coating area can improve purification rate and reduce test time, so the leakage could be reduced and as a result, M also could be reduced slightly. The concentration of free fonnaldehyde in plank was calculated using H-history method, and the purificatory performance of samples on free formaldehyde in plank was evaluated by the reduce of free formaldehyde concentration in plank which used sample(md). The result show that, md1 of samples a\b\c\d for density board were 7.05\6.94\3.26\2.79mg/g, md2 for particleboard were 0.188\0.174\0.118\0.047 mg/g. md for density board were much bigger than md for particleboard, that is because the concentration of free formaldehyde and structure of density board and particleboard are different, which can influence the permeation and reaction of samples in board. The weights of T, M, md1, md2 have been determined using Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP) and the index value have been standardization using linear interpolation method. The score of samples has been calculated according the weight and standard index value, which could evaluate products visible and comprehensively, and the result is that the score of a\b\c\d is 94\63\20\8.
