This paper studied the liquefaction characteristic and mechanics of coal with different macerals(SHV SHB SHG SHI) with donor solvent, both from Shenhua company. The aim is to promote the conversion and oil yield of Shendong coal rich inertinite(SHG). The effects of main factors on coal liquefaction were studied by using a 25 ml tubular resonance agitation micro-autoclave reactor. Kinetic models fitting Shenhua coals liquefaction were developed and the mechanism of Shenhua coals direct liquefaction was investigated.The effect of temperature, reaction time and inertinite were investigated. The result showed that the inertinite was a major factor. The more inertinite, the lower conversion. While the oil and gas yield of SHG was higher than SHB when the reaction temperature was above 445℃or the reaction time was more than 30min. And the conversion of more inertinite coal SHI was 70% and oil and gas yield was 40% when temperature was 450℃。That was saying inertinite was likely to divide into little molecules and was important for coal liquefaction.Direct liquefaction kinetics was studied. In the models, the coal was divided into two parts, reactive part and unreactive part. The apparent activity energy of coal rich in Inertinite from coal to oil and gas was 163.31kJ/mol while from coal to preasphaltene & asphaltene was 126.36 kJ/mol. And apparent activity energy of coal rich in vitrinite for reaction of coal to oil and gas and coal to preasphaltene & asphaltene were 84.40 kJ/mol and 98.46 kJ/mol. Comparing the reaction coefficient of the two kinds of coal for different temperature, coal to oil and gas was as bigger as coal to preasphaltene & asphaltene, which showed that the reaction of coal to oil was important for SHG coal direct liquefaction.The essential approach of promoting conversion and oil & gas yield of Shendong coal rich inertinite liquefaction was to increase temperature or lengthen reaction time. While the hydrogen performance and quality of donor solvent and catalysis could be improved to promote hydrogenation of SHG coal liquefaction for higher oil production rate.
