Jaw crusher is a ideal crushing machine, now widely used in mining, building materials, chemical and metallurgical industries, it has advantages that its structure is simple, reliable and adaptable through working. The best features of the fixed jaw is the fundamental factors to ensure the best performances of jaw crushers, and the best features are obtained by the optimal design of institutions.Structural parameter optimization is based on the the trajectory values of fixed jaw through movement analysis, and then calculated technical performance parameters of the crusher, then selected the design variable values, to achieve optimal performance of the crusher. Based on the kinematics analysis of PEF-600×900 compound pendulum jaw crusher, this design proposed the mathematical model of optimized structural parameters of the compound pendulum jaw crusher, solved the mathematical model with the complex method and MATLAB optimization toolbox. In the process of the mathematical model building, this design selected rod lengthχ1, bracket lengthχ2, frame lengthχ3, jaw lengthχ4, rod thicknessχ5, rack-and X-axis angleα; as design variables through the kinematic analysis of the institutions; taken vertical stroke and horizontal stroke ratio of the lowest point of the fixed jaw-as the objective function; gotten the constraints based on the analysis of performances of structural parameters to machine performance.The jaw length, frame length and bracket length all had been reduced of PEF-600×900 compound pendulum jaw crusher, the machine height and weight had been reduced, the crushing efficiency had been improved after optimization.
