Clothing is essential to people's daily life. The clothes people dress can totally reflect their social activities. Dressing is a communication and a display of beauty, which can reflect both current social economic and cultural states. The aesthetic study of clothing display is a vital part of contemporary aesthetic study.In existent researching files both at home and abroad, the studies are mainly focused on design methods and design aesthetics of clothing business display. The studies which are focused on aesthetic characteristic and activities, combining both aesthetic theories and research methods are rare.Clothing display is a display and a communication of beauty. By using the basic research methods of aesthetic, this thesis conducts a study to the aesthetic characteristic of clothing display, how an aesthetic subject forms its aesthetic attitude and the research of aesthetic activities. The study is to analyze the characteristic of beauty, the accumulation of aesthetic experience, and the study of aesthetic activities of clothing display. The author is trying to resolve the related problems of the display of beauty in a clothing display, thus she could provide theory basis for deeper aesthetic interpretations of clothing display, which could explain clothing display and guide the artistic practice of clothing. The thesis consists of three chapters.In Chapter One, the author points out the aesthetic target of the morphology of clothing display. She then analyzes the beauty of morphology, the beauty in form, the beauty in configuration, the beauty of artistic conception and the human-centered aesthetic characteristic. Chapter Two studies on receptor of clothing display. The author reveals the forming of aesthetic experience and attitude of an aesthetic receptor, from the aspects of cultural inheritance, mainstream culture, popular culture, social stratum, effects of media, personal needs, social needs, areas, consumption view, values, life style, etc.Chapter Three concentrates on aesthetic activities of clothing display. In this chapter, the author elementarily reveals the characteristic of liberty, passiveness, diversification, illegibility in an aesthetic activity. She also analyzes the phenomena in aesthetic activities, the aesthetic imagery of clothing display and the aesthetic mentality of receptors, during an aesthetic process, including the aspects of perceptions, aesthetic imaginations, the experience of trying on, and the aesthetic judgments and receiving.
