Pipeline transportation is the most effective way of oil transportation, it has the merits such as the transportation volume, safe and reliable non-polluting, covers an area of less,low energy consumption and low cost, but due to the pipeline itself or vandalism, the pipeline often leak. The oil leak is not only caused economic losses and pollution of natural environment, and more importantly, due to the characteristics of petroleum products, flammable, explosive, and may be a direct threat to people's lives and property, and even more serious accident. Therefore, timely detection of pipeline leaks and accurate positioning has great significance.In order to solve the problem of pipeline leak there has been more mature methods, however, China's crude oil with a high pour point, high wax, high viscosity, they need to heat transfer, their material properties with temperature changes more, small temperature changes can cause changes in crude oil viscosity, the existing foreign some more mature technologies are mostly not apply to the actual situation of our pipeline.In this paper,for the oil pipeline leak and the leak is difficult to detect the problem,combined with the characteristics of the of the oil pipeline in China,study the leak detection and localization method based on new material PVDF piezoelectric sensors.The article first describes the current situation of domestic and international pipeline leak detection technology and negative pressure wave detection theory, then focuses on the design and make of PVDF piezoelectric sensor, and finally discuss the pipeline leak detection and location system based on PVDF piezoelectric sensors and do simulation system experiment.When the pipeline leak somewhere, will produce the negative pressure wave of the upstream and downstream propagation, to capture the negative pressure wave signal through both ends of the pressure transmitter to detection method is the negative pressure wave detection, because it without a mathematical model,simple in principle, low cost, installation and easy maintenance, has been widely applied. Pressure transmitter performance directly affects the accuracy of detection and location, so to improve the hardware part of the negative pressure wave is very meaningful, through the design of sensors to improve its performance and thus enhance the sensitivity of the leak detection and positioning accuracy. PVDF(polyvinylidene fluoride)is a new high polymer sensing materials,it has the good piezoelectric properties,high sensitivity.low acoustic impedance,wide frequency response,easy layout,corrosion-resistant advantages.This article chooses PET(poly of terephthalic acid b two ester)ifilm as a pressure-sensitive components, PVDF film transducer, on the basis of the existing piezoelectric sensors proposed a new piezoelectric for PVDF film sensor design concepts and methods, and for the various parts of the structure, namely the choice of components and structure detail for the pressure-sensitive components and transducer, and made the sensor.Finally use the PVDF piezoelectric sensors we designed simulated pipe leakage field do some experiments in the lab, proved its feasibility, and experimental results show that the pipeline leak detection of PVDF piezoelectric sensors can use to identify the pipe leakage, improve the detection sensitivity and resolution of leakage, effectively reduce false alarm rate.
