Land use type and ways have been changed dramatically due to the speed of urbanization increase and continuous expansion of city size. The changes in land use changed structure of ecosystem, resulted in degeneration of ecosystem function, which would seriously destroy sustainable utilization of natural resource. Hence, Contradiction was occurred between new city exploitation and ecosystem protection. The influence of new city exploitation on changes in land use and ecosystem function was analyzed, which helped city and regional planning and guided setting up scientific protection plan of ecosystem. This dissertation established a basic database with high resolution for linggang new city in Shanghai, based on interpretation of high resolution images from1994,2000and2006. The changes in land use of linggang new city and selective river and ecosystem services function were evaluated using mathematic model in combination with the database. The main results were listed in below:1. Dynamic change in space of land use From1994to2006, the area of water bodies, cultivated land and unused land decreased evidently, and the cultivated land was reduced least. Woodland, orchard, grassland, and construction land were increased, and construction land had largest increase. The speed of garden increase is fastest, followed by grass; while the reduction of unused land is fastest, followed by arable land. From1994to2000and from2000to2006, cultivated land continued declining, mainly for the construction of land, waters and garden; land for construction in the first period showed slow growth, and showed rapid growth in the second period. Expansion of construction land in New Town development process occupied a lot of farmland, which resulted in promoting the changes in the land use structure. Coastal wetland area showed increasing trend due to affection of land reclamation, however, land use shifted with the construction of new town development, and construction land showed rapid increase.2. Dynamic changes in space of ESVFrom1994to2006, total value of ecosystem services of linggang new city showed rise trend due to the eastern coastal wetland area increase. But at the same time, the value of ecosystem services existed spatial differences, ie.,94seawall west side of the ecosystem service value showed decrease trend. The reduction in ecosystem services in arable land, woodland, grassland of ecosystem services was offset by water region increase in the first period, while the total value of land for construction was increased. In the second period, a significant increase of construction land resulted in inhibition of the increase in the value of other ecosystem services, which resulted in sharp decrease of the total value;94seawall east side of the land reclamation area in2006to continue in2000on the basis of a substantial increase, making the1994seawall east side of the scope of the ecosystem service value, However, the range of ecosystem services from the east side (1994) of the seawall to the2000seawall west side of value tended to decrease due to the influence of new city.Seawall west side of the main water conservation and waste disposal between the two accounted for more than50percent of the total value of ecosystem services. From1994to2000, due to increased water area of the functional value for water conservation, waste disposal, biodiversity conservation, recreation and culture; between2000and2006, influenced by the new town development, in addition to raw materials outside the service value of the remaining eight showed downward trend.94seawall east of the tidal wetland area increased ecosystem services, climate regulation, water conservation and waste disposal. The Lima river and with the Suitang river were selected, found by analysis of a500m buffer land use change from1994to2000time period bufferland use change, the slow pace of urbanization, from2000to2006, by the ProHong Kong Metro large-scale development and construction of significant changes, mainly to a substantial increase in construction land, arable land is substantially reduced; the value of ecosystem services from1994to2000did not occur due to land use changes, land use, ecological did not change the total value of the system services, from2000to2006, arable land has decreased, but other types of land area increased, making the total rise in the value which the largest contribution to the amount of water ecosystems. Finally, the value of ecosystem services for sustainable development land use strategy and recommendations. The water region and wetlands provided the value of ecosystem services, which take measures to focus on the protection of water area, the rational development of wetland resources, and protect the ecological functions of wetlands and waters, protection of biodiversity.
