| With the development of the internal combustion engine technology, hydraulic tappets are widely used in automobiles nowadays, especially in cars. Hydraulic tappets can eliminate the impact created by valve clearance, it reduces the noise during operation and also keeps the non-clearance contacts of valve train in any condition. Hydraulic tappets, as an important part of engine, its machining precision and productivity will effect the quality and productivity of automobile directly. The conventional way of improving efficiency and quality is to shorten auxiliary processing time and use rigid production lines, which has become increasingly unsuited to the development of today's production. Therefore, it's an important subject to study how to improve the machining precision and productivity of hydraulic tappets.Production condition of hydraulic tappet in China was described in this paper. By taking 5010A type of hydraulic tappet which produces in PPM Company for example, on the base of analysing the structure, operating principle, material, processing procedure and main measurement technology, designing a processing line of hydraulic tappets and analysing the important process of processing, especially the factors which affectcs the maching surface quality were discussed.By ananlysing the problems arise in trial-manufacture of 5010A hydraulic tappet, from the following six factors such as location, cutter, equipment, measurement, error adjustment and workpiece storage to analyse, the machining techniques of hydraulic tappet were improved. The low efficiency and the out-of-size problem while turning the shell and bracket of hydraulic tappet were analyzed in detail. Finally, it demonstrates that production efficiency was greatly improved by comparing the data before and after improvement. On the impact of the burr, we use ultrasonic technology to replace traditional manual deburring. Beside, rust measures should be taked in the storage of hydraulic tappet, we can use anti-tust oil to prevent tappet getting rusty. |
