Traditional strength design of gun tube is based on thick-wall cylinder theory, by some assumptions, the problem of thick-walled cylinder is simplifyed to axisymmetric problem under static situation, then the static stress analysis and strength calculation is made. In fact, it is dynamic load that effects on the gun tube, obviously it has greater different with the actual.In this dissertation, the self-fastening thick-wall cylinder as the research object, a method of taking theoretical calculation, finite element analysis and experiment scheme for a closed bomb simulating the gun's launching are combined and the research of residual stress distribution of self-fastening thick-wall cylinder and dynamic ultimate strength are made.First, the residual stress of self-fastening thick-wall cylinder and the static ultimate strength are calculated. Second, by using ANSYS which is a dynamic linear and nonlinear finite element analysis software, finite element model of thick-wall cylinder was established which residual stress distribution is analysised. APDL is the assembly language of ANSYS which is used to written dynamic loader, the dynamic strength analysis and dynamic ultimate strength calculation are made. On the finite element model which the same pressure are loaded, but the dynamic analysis and static analysis are made respectively, then the dynamic stress and static stress are comparisoned.At last, a experiment scheme for a closed bomb simulating the gun's launching is designed. Under the high pressure conditions, the experimental research for dynamic ultimate strength of self-fastening thick-wall cylinder is made.Through theoretical calculation, finite element analysis and experimental research, it has been proved that the dynamic ultimate strength of self-fastening thick-wall cylinder have gearter than the static ultimate strength, which range is determined.
