In recent years, as with the wide use of curved girder bridge structure in the fields of our domestic road, bridge and any other aspects, many diseases stand out because of the fast increasing capacity on bridge and the extending of bridge lifespan, especially the unique disease of lateral displacement. Many scholars from home and abroad made plenty studies on this disease and some suggestions were proposed accordingly, but a complete theory system hasn't formed yet. Thus, it is necessary to make a further study on it.Combined with the practical project that detect and enforce several curved girder bridges, I made deep and meticulous research on the influence factors that affect the lateral displacement of curved girder bridges. Vehicle load was proposed as the major factor that affect the lateral displacement of curved girder bridges, with the principle of classical mechanics and under the consideration of pier columns and supports, I deduced the analytic solution of the lateral displacement vehicle load was displayed at any cross-section on the girders of curved bridges. Integrate with the characteristics of vehicle load, I put forward the lateral displacement mechanism of curved bridges and established the displacement stimulation diagram that lateral displacement changes with the increasing of time based on the displacement mechanism. I made an analysis on three factors that affect lateral displacement of curved girder bridges under the effect of vehicle load: pre-eccentricity of the supports, pier column height and curvature radius, and then advanced that the changes of the pier column height and curvature radius put more influence on lateral displacement under the effect of vehicle load.This essay combined with the practical project that detect and enforce several curved girder bridges, raised two types of diseases lateral displacement leads, made analysis to diseases' characteristics and mechanism and presented concrete enforcement plan to the two diseases combined with engineering practice. In addition, this essay made research on the measures of lateral spacing, brought out two exact measures:flexible spacing and rigid spacing, and made a contrast on the advantages and disadvantages of those two measures.Several important conclusions have been obtained from this study, those conclusions will have some directive function in the future curved girder bridge and maintenance.
