The length of Xi'an-Zhashui expressway was 43.487km, which crossed Qingling and Guanzhong Basin with four distinctive seasons. Holding investment and material supply, semi-rigid base was applied under asphalt pavement. ATB-30(Asphalt Treated Base) had been used as base course to reduce the adverse effect of reflection crack to asphalt concrete. Aimed at weather character and traffic condition, specific inquiring of coarse aggregates, fine aggregates and asphalt of ATB-30 had been put forward in the thesis. Based on frequently-used Proportioning Design theory, together with n method, bailey method, superpave method and GTM method,3 gradations of ATB-30 had been obtained by calculating and analyzing. Founded on Technical Specifications for Construction of Highway Asphalt Pavements (JTG F40-2004), the study of the construction technology of ATB-30 mixture had been carried out in preparing work before construction, mixing, transporting, paving, compacting and joint disposal of asphalt mixture. The construction control quality technique had been put forward in the thesis. Furthermore, techniques of strictly controlling rolling temperature, reasonable compaction craft, speed and number, reasonable frequency and amplitude had been proposed to ensure construction progress of ATB-30 base course.
