Hydrostatic/Hydrodynamic floating-ring bearings have become more and more popular in many high-speed rotor-bearing systems such as aeronautical and aerospace equipment, air separation plant and super precision grinding machine due to their remarkable characteristics in respect of high load capacity, low friction, high accuracy, smooth operation etc. High speed floating-ring bearing's film vibration is the development bottleneck towards higher speed. At present, floating-ring bearing's stability remains further research. On the other hand, because the thicknesses of inner and outer films are thin, deformation of floating-ring under loading may have effects on them. Therefore, it is of far reaching importance to do further research on floating ring bearing's static and dynamic character, stability as well as floating ring's effects to bearing in order to improve machine's performance.The thesis takes sleeve internal feedback radial rotor-bearing system as research object, establishes inner and outer films'static and dynamic simulate model, deduces floating ring bearing's stable discriminant approach. In order to analysis effects of floating-ring's deformation to the thickness of films, the thesis solves floating ring's deformations under different speeds and eccentric ratio using ANSYS and compares the results with film's thickness. The main contents are as follows:1. Calculation of floating ring bearing's static and dynamic characteristics using MATLABThe thesis programs floating ring bearing's inner and outer films'pressure distributions by using MATLAB and calculates bearing's static and dynamic character at different speed and eccentric ratio when floating ring is balance.2. Analysis of floating ring bearing's stabilityAt the basis of stiffness and damping data, the thesis discusses hybrid floating ring bearing's stability incited by films'forces. We form rotor-bearing's dynamic equations and deduces formula to judge system's stability to guarantee that bearing doesn't generate self-excitation vibration.3. Analysis of floating ring's loading and deformation using ANSYS The thesis establishes floating ring's solid model, meshes and loads forces and constraint to get its stress and strain by using ANSYS. From the results, we get the results that in low speed and eccentric ratio under 0.6, the effects of floating ring's deformation can be neglected. It is reasonable to takes floating ring as rigid body. However, in high speed and large eccentric ratio above 0.6, it is necessary to take floating ring's deformation into consideration.From the research results, we can see that floating-ring bearing has the advantage of high load capacity, low friction and low friction torque. These characteristics improve bearing-rotor system's critic speed and meet the demand of high speed rotating machine's development.
