With development of computer communication technology, proposal of the IEC61850 technical standard, and maturity of technologies in intelligent switches and photoelectric transformer, traction substation, which is capable of collecting, transmitting and processing information in all-digital status, will become an inevitable trend. To study backup power automatic switch of digital traction substation based on IEC61850 standard, my paper analyzes backup power automatic switch and develops program based on IEC61850 standard, then simulates on two computers.Firstly, the paper introduces the development of backup power automatic switch in traction substation, analyzes some core contents such as specific communication service mapping as well as the basic idea and structure of IEC61850 standard, and then studies thoroughly technologies such as communication protocol stack on the GOOSE encoding and GOOSE publish subscribe message communication model.Secondly, the paper analyzes the standby power source, autotransformer automatic switch and switching station incoming line automatic switch for backup power automatic switch technology, and studies the connection type and logical principle for backup power automatic switch of digital traction substation. Then, based on design of simulation program, the paper builds IED information mode of backup power automatic switch for digital traction substation, and discusses the design process of GOOSE message coding and decoding while analyzing the logic of ethernet communication based on winpcap, multithread technology and standby power source in program designing.Finally, the paper verifies the program of backup power automatic switch of digital traction substation by simulating on computer, and the simulation results show that the software can send and receive the real-time GOOSE message between two computers while running according to the backup logic of standby power source of digital traction substation.
