With the development of power grid technology, substations are moving rapidly in thedirection of digital and intelligent. As the most perfect substation communication protocol tillnow, standard IEC61850is the foundation of digital and intelligent substation.High-speed electrified railway passenger special line is the inexorable trend of railwaypassenger transport because it has many advantages such as high-speed, energy conservation,environmental protection and riding comfort. Traction substation is the core part ofhigh-speed passenger special line and the electric power source of the whole railway line. It isalso a vital customer of the power system. So it is imperative to conduct digitization intraction substation by applying standard IEC61850in purpose of keeping up with the trend ofdigital and intelligent of power grid technology development, meeting the newer and higherrequirments of traction power supply system, such as higher real-time performance and largerdata capacity of monitoring system of traction power supply, which are posted by high-speedpassenger special line.First of all, the hierarchy of standard IEC61850is deeply researched and its developmenthistory is introduced in this dissertation. Composition structure and key technologies ofstandard IEC61850are analyzed to conclude its kernel features and advantages.Secondly, model processing of devices in substation based on standard IEC61850iselaborated. Combined with engineering actual condition of one newly-built high-speedpassenger special line, the information modeling of relevant protection, measurement andcontrol devices in a traction substation are completed. The final tree view graphs ofconfiguration and the substation configuration language (SCL) description documents aregathered in the SCL Manager software.Thirdly, transform scheme of process-level in the traction substation is given abide bystandard IEC61850, and the relevant core technologies of process-level transform arediscussed in detail. Electronic instrument transformer (EIT) and its merging unit (MU) aremodeled, packets communication mechanism based on generic object oriented substationevent (GOOSE) and IEC61850-9-2-based sampled values (SV) are researched and analyzed.Finally, two available types of communication network in digital traction substation arestructured in view of the communication request in standard IEC61850. The performances ofthese two networks are analyzed and the corresponding simulation models are built in theoptimized network engineering tools (OPNET) software to verify their performances bysimulating different communication scenarios. The simulation results show that the twonetworks built in this dissertation are able to meet the requirements of communicationtransmission delay proposed in the standard IEC61850and their performances are both well.
