With the development of national economy, there are more and more consumer equipments power customer's, which puts forward higher requirements to power grid gtability. Generators work at stable statement in a long time is an important condition to ensure the security and stability of power supply system. So, the real-time running state monitoring of the generator is very important and it is an important foundation for the generator real-time control in the power plant.This article first introduces stable statements of generators and electrical tests needed to ensure stable operation of generators. Then concluded the parameters have to monitor in order to reflect the stable operation of generators and the method of the parameters' collection and calculation. Final designed the generator on-line monitor system with sensor technology and computer technology. This system including two parts:hardware and software. The hardware consisted with varieties of Electricity Isolated Sensor and Switch Circuit. They are used to collect electrical variables and switch signals which been send to main computer by data acquisition cards and serial ports. The software is used to storage and process the variables collected by hardware. Realize the function of graphic image display, electrical test, automatic recorder and system alarming and so on.By collect electrical variables and switch signals, the system can simulate the synchronous generator voltage vector diagram, generator safety running limit curve and generator power-angle characteristic curve with relevant algorithm. On the one hand, the merging of the voltage vector diagram and generator safety running limit curve can reflect the synchronous generator's electromagnetism, synchronous connection, late phase operation, same phase operation, leading phase operation, no load operation, disturbance, low frequency oscillation and so on. On the other hand, the merging of the generator power-angle characteristic curve and synchronizing power can reflect the generator's static stability and dynamic stability. By the two ways above, the operation staff can directly know the generator's state, so do some relevant measures to make sure the generator's stable running.In the process of the system's implementation made a full use of the computer interface and multi-threading technology. The system has the feature of easy maintenance, extensible and easy operation. This article's work has reference value for the further research of generator's on-line monitor.
