Coal is the most important element to the cost. Index evaluation can decrease energy consumption and optimize economic operation mode, and constantly improve the overall economic efficiency of the power plant. The Yunnan region have hydroelectric power and thermal power, to adapt to the grid needs, thermal power units involved in peak load regulating operation, but the operation is lack of economic operation mode and assessment method. Currently the index evaluation system of thermal power in Yunnan provincial exists shortness. We proposes a more scientific calculation method based on the analysis of index evaluation system and the existing problems. In this paper we development a small index calculation and statements software, which one is a "full automation" software. First we analysis the index system, to find out which can represent economy of main index, to simplify the object of system. And we determine the overall target and design principle of the system, presented the general structure of the model. The software is developmented by Visual Basic, based on component software architecture. It can be divided into DCS communication and data collection interface, performance calculation, database refresh, database compression, report display and the printed program. Statements are based on the crystal reports, according with work habits in power plant. Reports of the display and print choose crystal reports runtime controls, which can improve the efficiency of development. This system features a small index performance algorithm in DPU, the calculated result is stable and reliable. The software calculated multiple small index through calculating DCS internal operation data and parameters, offering index evaluation for the class reports and monthly reports of power plant boiler, turbine, electrical, overcoming the original index software flaws. Operational results show that: the implementation of index performance calculation and statistics is stable, reliable and is becoming main basis of power plant index competition and evaluation. It has played a positive role in in the energy conservation and emission reduction and economic operation.
