Originally, the loads of Huaibei power company lieshan substation of Anhui Electric Power Company substation power company were mainly coal, aluminum and cement. Recently, it added several ceramic plants and steel mills, mostly for non-linear load, which led to a large number of harmonic current injection network, reducing the power supply quality, impacting other users of the system. Meanwhile, in the operation of power grid ,not only does it requires a lot of reactive power but also causes a lot of great changes. Triggering voltage is also large, seriously affecting the quality of products. Therefore, to ensure that the grid power supply and product quality, the harmonic control and reactive power compensation is necessary.Huaibei power company lieshan substation's Dynamic reactive power compensation and harmonic suppression device is used in synthesis of reactive and harmonic compensation. This program is not only a system of dynamic reactive power compensation, and harmonic filter system to ensure that the grid voltage to maintain stability and reduce the loss of reactive power and eliminate the impact of harmonics on the grid. The system consists of thyristor controlled reactor (TCR), active power filter (APF) and fixed filter (FC) ,and so on. The use of TCR and FC is to ensure that the power factor is not less than 0.97.The use of TCR and APF and FC is to ensure that voltage distortion is less than the national standard. APF not only improve the filtering characteristics of passive filters, but also completely inhibited the resonance between the passive filter and network.Currently, the system has been put into operation. The power factor is improved from about 0.89 to 0.97. Harmonic content is reduced from 0.5% to 0.22%.It not only reduces line losses caused by the reactive power but it also reduces the loss caused by harmonic active power. To a large extent , it can avoid harmonic may damage electrical equipment with great economic benefits And social benefits.
