The paper presents an analysis method of the operation economy of the boiler which takes the minimization net coal consumption rate as the target, the analysis and calculation formulae of the boiler's main thermal economy indexes are educed through the calculation formula of each heat loss brought in operation process of power plant boiler, and the optimal flue gas oxygen content partial differential equation based on the minimization net coal consumption rate is built. The calculation formulas of the variation characteristic for the boiler's thermal economy parameters affected by the flue gas oxygen content are educed by analyzing the thermal experimentation data of the HG-1025/17.5-YM33 boiler in Zhang Jia Kou thermo-electric Ltd., and the optimal set value of flue gas oxygen content under different load of the power plant boiler is calculated. The analysis results shows that use the optimal set value of flue gas oxygen content to regulate the combustion process through the air supply control system, the net coal consumption rate of the power plant boiler can be effectively reduced in the operation process of the turbine generator unit.
